Most women are tested for STDs by having a couple of swabs taken from their cervix using a cotton bud or a small plastic loop. It’s not painful, just uncomfortable, like a smear test. If you’ve had unprotected sex, yes, that area may be swabbed, too. Other infections can be screened from urine samples and blood tests. |
