How To Wear Capes pg1

- COSMO

As seen on the runways of designers like Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen, capes come in different shapes, sizes and fabrics. They’re fashionable, versatile, warm, and look super-chic when worn with a pared-down silhouette. They’re also elegant and sophisticated, and can take your look from casual to dressy in an instant.

Below are a few things that should be considered before choosing a cape.

If you’re tall, always go for longer capes so it doesn’t look like you’ve raided your younger sister’s cupboard.
If you’re short, opt for cropped capes that are proportionate to your body type. Capes that end around the hip are best because they lengthen you.
If you’re fuller-figured, go for a streamlined cape so that it doesn’t make you look too bulky. Remember, capes are already voluminous.
If you’re pear-shaped, opt for a cape with a belt, which will accentuate your waistline.
