Last night surely marked the end of winter as COSMOPOLITAN’s Lingerie show set a chilly Cape Town on fire! In what was arguably the best COSMO Lingerie fashion show to date, the Southern Sun Cape Sun hosted a spectacular evening of glitz, glam, and gorgeous models.
This year’s COSMO Lingerie show was styled by designer Luiz De Laja, known for having contributed greatly not only to fashion design in Africa, but to some of South Africa’s top creative offerings such as Design Indaba and Cape Town Carnival. The show boasted well-known local beauties such as Tracy McGregor and Lisa Cowley, as well as international models and new faces to watch.
Brands on the runway included Wonderbra, Edgars (Shelley, Free 2 B U, and Kelso), Jockey, Ackermans, Guess, Vogue Eyewear, Elle McPherson Intimates, Temptations, Absolut Vodka, and Aldo.
This year’s show included a performance from Paige Mac, whose powerful voice stunned the crowd into silence. The show itself was a multimedia spectacular with post-modern imagery portrayed through wonderful wings, striking shoulder pieces, mysterious masks, and out-of-this-world accessories that combined to set this show apart from other local fashion shows.
As always, COSMO Lingerie showcased only the hottest brands and trends, top-quality sound and lighting and, of course, the most beautiful models around. All factors combined to make for a fashion show few will forget for the months to come.
