MAC has dubbed its upcoming perfume range ‘Shadescents’ — six unique scents inspired by the brand’s most popular lipstick shades. Yep, you can now pair your Ruby Woo, Velvet Teddy, Lady Danger, Creme D’Nude, Heroine and Candy Yum-Yum lippies with a matching fragrance — how clever?!
MAC broke the news on social media yesterday along with its group of celebrity MAC Shadescents ambassadors, who include all of our favourites — Blac Chyna, EJ Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross, Dascha Polanco and Justine Skye.
Each fragrance is composed of one-of-a-kind notes to complement the personality of your chosen lipstick. Expect sultry, woody ‘red leather notes’ from MAC’s Ruby Woo perfume (as described on its official Instagram page) as well as an indulgently fruity and sweet composition in Candy Yum-Yum.
Blac Chyna lists ‘Candy Yum-Yum’ as her fragrance of choice: ‘Pink is a signature part of my look from head-to-toe and my signature pink lipstick shade has always been MAC’s eye-catching Candy Yum-Yum.’
Style god and professional style snatcher EJ Johnson vouches for anything ‘Velvet Teddy’ related: ‘Velvet Teddy keeps all the attention on me, no matter, wherever I’m doing the most, especially the attention of real teddy bear boys.’
Our hair goals, style goals, everything goals Tracee Ellis Ross credits herself a ‘Ruby Woo’ girl — but no surprise here, as her character Bow on Black-ish loves a good bold lip colour…
#WCW Dascha Polanco is a total stan for ‘Lady Danger’, which is an appropriate fit for the sultry actress’s personality.
Real-life mermaid Justine Skye, on the other hand, is a diehard ‘Heroine’ fan.
I always love an unexpected, sexy twist, like a unique hair color or an unconventional shade of Lipstick. @MACcosmetics Lipstick in Heroine has always been a staple in my arsenal for when I’m feeling especially sultry and mysterious. Now, I get to tap into that exotic side of my personality with #MACShadescents, six fragrances inspired by M∙A∙C’s most iconic Lipstick shades, including Heroine. There’s a scent for every personality. #IAmMyHeroine – what’s your #MACShadescents? #MACambassador
