Here, South Africa’s sex experts divulge what they think are the biggest sex myths in the world today.

Myth #1: Orgasms Are Quick and Easy	‘Many people refer to sex as meaning intercourse only. This is very limiting, as it does take other pleasurable means or intimacy with your partner into account. It’s important to de-emphasise this all-or-nothing approach. Bathing together, mutual stimulation via masturbation or oral sex, deep kissing and lying together on the couch can also feel pleasurable, bring you and your boyfriend closer and make both of you feel wanted and attractive. These behaviours are (hopefully) exclusive to our sexual partners, which therefore makes them sexual acts. It may be that intercourse is the preferred activity, but it can be problematic if this is the only acceptable destination of every sexual encounter.’ - Dr Claire Rockliffe-Fidler
