Cute ballet pumps, sexy stilettos, power platforms – chances are, you have several pairs of each. But do you realise your shoes should come with a health warning? A report from podiatrists reveals that up to 80% of us have foot problems, and our shoes don't help the situation. Here's how to limit the negative effects…

HIGH HEELS	The Problem: Pointy styles might be perfect for power dressing, but your toes won't thank you in the long run. 'Squashing toes together creates pressure on the skin and will lead to corns (thickened skin, usually on top of the smaller toes) or ingrown toenails,' says Dave. Foot Fix: A podiatrist can cut away corns but, in future, look for shoes made from soft leather, as it has more 'give'. Trim nails straight and don't go too short. A good daily exercise for toes is picking up pens with your feet – it will boost circulation and stretch them after they have been squeezed into your shoes. Health Hazard Rating: High
