Cute ballet pumps, sexy stilettos, power platforms – chances are, you have several pairs of each. But do you realise your shoes should come with a health warning? A report from podiatrists reveals that up to 80% of us have foot problems, and our shoes don't help the situation. Here's how to limit the negative effects…

HIGH HEELS	The Problem: You might think they're sensible, but flats can be bad for you. 'Ballet pumps don't have any arch support, so feet tip from left to right as you walk and your posture can be knocked out of line,' warns Dave. The result? 'Aching feet, knees, hips and back. Plus, thin soles lack shock absorption, which increases wear on the joints.' Foot Fix: Look for styles with cushioned soles or use insoles – they'll offer heel support and cushioning.
