Add an Accessory

As über-fashionista, Coco Chanel once said: 'Always remove one accessory before leaving the house.' This is very true, especially considering the fact that you don't want to look like an over-decorated Christmas tree or a ho-ho-ho – even if it's almost the season to be jolly. Try to make your accessories work for you and not against you with these easy tips.

• Always wear silver jewellery with black, grey or colourful shoes, such as blue or green. • Wear chunky rings - they always make a fierce statement. • Combine simple earrings with a bulky neckpiece, brooch or bag. • Try vintage clip-on earrings and scarves. You can easily find these at your local flea market - they are usually cheap and unique. • Make sure the colour of your belt matches your shoes and handbag at all times.
