Forty readers in Jo'burg, Durban and Cape Town headed out in August for a mini makeover at the COSMO Cover Girl workshops. They got to live it up for a day with makeup and fashion tips from industry experts and celebrities, Tanit Phoenix, 5FM’s Poppy and Lieschen Botes.
The readers were treated to a delicious breakfast in the morning, before starting the workshops at the venues, which included
The Southern Sun Elangeni in Durban,
The Fairway Hotel and Golf Resort in Jo’burg and the African Pride 15 On Orange Hotel in Cape Town.
The readers were given tips from COSMO’s fashion guru Robynne Kahn - she told them how to look and feel like a star by following a few easy rules and by shopping at Foschini and Donna-Claire. Readers then got insider makeup tips, while makeup artists made over the celebrity of the day using Revlon products.
The readers also got a hair makeover by Toni & Guy Electrical, and a fresh look from Revlon’s makeup professionals. They also had their nails done with Revlon’s Top Speed Nail Varnish.
After lunch, readers were given a professional bra fitting by Triumph. Robynne then made sure everyone was styled and comfortable in the latest Foschini and Donna-Claire fashion and accessories. In front of the camera, the readers received posing advice from Tanit, Poppy and Lieschen, and were snapped looking cover girl glamorous!
After a few cocktails, lucky draw prizes and stunning goodie bags, the readers got their COSMO, which featured them on the front cover. The Cover Girl workshops are always an inspiring, fun day out - and most of the readers left ready to show off their new looks.
