16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence is an international United Nations campaign and runs between 25 November (International Human Rights Day) and 10 December (International Day of No Violence Against Women and Children).
On 28 November 2009 COSMOPOLITAN in partnership with
Self-Defence Workshops will be running two self-defence seminars as part of their campaign to generate awareness around the negative impact of violence on women and children as well as on society as a whole. Sanette Smit, COSMO's self-defence expert and her team will be presenting the 2009 Summer Self-Defence Workshops, which promise to enlighten, empower and motivate you. The workshop will remind you that you are a strong woman, you are wonderful human being, you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and no one has the right to commit any act of violence against you.
While the morning workshop is open to all women, the afternoon workshop will provide an opportunity for mothers and daughters (15 years and older) to participate as a fun, fearless and fantastic team.
