COSMO girls know how to
KICK BUTT in all walks of life, especially when it comes to protecting themselves, and that is exactly what they learned to do at the COSMO Kicks Butt Self Defence Workshops hosted at Planet Fitness Mega Club in JHB and Planet Fitness Plattekloof in CPT.
Our self-defence guru, Sanette Smit is a seventh-dan black belt in karate and the highest graded woman in Africa, not to mention one of the highest graded women in the world. Starting the day with an informative lecture, Sanette gave the girls step-by-step instructions on how to protect themselves, most important of all being, how to notice a potential threat before a situation gets worse. She explained how to spot an attacker, talked about the types of attackers you get and how COSMO girls can get themselves out of dangerous situations.
Girls were then treated to an energising lunch, after which they got to practice the self defence moves themselves. Performing standing, punching and floor routines, everyone learned moves all attackers should be afraid of.
Glacéau Vitamin Water kept the girls refreshed during the day and Original Cocktails served yummy drinks as everyone relaxed after a fun-filled workout.
