Vitamin Questions

In an ideal world, we’d get all the vitamins and minerals we need from a balanced diet. But sometimes life interferes, and taking a supplement seems like the best (and easiest) option. Sharon Natoli, director of Food & Nutrition Australia, tells us more.

‘Can taking vitamin C really stop me from getting sick?’	‘Try a multi-vitamin that includes all the B vitamins, vitamins C, D and E, folic acid, iron and zinc,’ says Natoli. ‘Many women have low iron levels or miss out on certain food groups (such as dairy) due to personal choice or an intolerance, so a single-dose supplement of iron or calcium can give your body what it needs.’
