A makeup brush has specifically been designed for a specific area of your face, whether it's for applying blush to your cheeks or putting on eyeshadow. Here, makeup experts share their helpful tips, from what to buy and look out for to what each brush is should be used for.
'The right tools are just as important as the makeup itself,' says international makeup artist, Bobbi Brown. 'Invest in a good set of brushes and you'll find that with proper care, they can last for years.'
If don't know what to look out for, take note: 'A good brush should feel soft against your skin and its bristles shouldn't fall out,' says Brown.
Before you buy anything, says Clarins representative, Melissa Whittle, get a beauty consultant at your local makeup counter to show you how each brush is used.

While not many people use a brush to apply lipsticks, balms and glosses, Whittle thinks it's a good idea if you want to leave your lips looking perfectly precise before you head out.
Helpful hint: For the lips, it's best to use a small, flat brush. This will help you reach perfection – you don't want smudges. |
