Models need to be camera-ready at any moment as they often get called out to shoots in exotic locations. But with all the lights, cameras and action, they have to take extra care as their hair can become dull and brittle.

We asked some of South Africa's leading beauties about their number one hair treatments.

JOELLE KAYEMBE	The Treatment: ‘I touch up my colour about every five weeks or so and after the colour process is done, that’s when the amazing treatment begins. My hairdresser, Mary Gouveia at In Hair Studio in Cape Town, shampoos my hair before she starts the in-salon Redken Chemistry Three-Phase Treatment. In the first phase, she applies the Repair & Intense Moisture Serum. In the second phase, she uses a spray, which locks it in. She leaves this on for about five minutes. After she’s rinsed it out, she starts the third phase and applies a mask, which seals the treatment. They leave the mask on for about 10 minutes and spoil me with the most amazing head massage ever. I practically fall asleep every time they do it. It's the best!’ A Word From Her Stylist: ‘We look after Tracy’s hair using Redken products to make sure she gets the whole package,’ says Gouveia. When doing the treatment, her team focuses on strengthening and repairing as well as moisturising for manageability purposes. The extreme part of the treatment repairs and strengthens, she says, while the real control part of the treatment moisturises.
