This trendy style is best for when you want to make a statement, says Marios Atzemoglou, owner of Marios Company For Hair in Cape Town.

Step 1: ‘Wash your hair with a mild shampoo for shine,’ says Atzemoglou. (TRY: Seri TCS Extra Shine Shampoo, R155).

Step 2: Brush mousse through your locks to maximise volume, he says. (TRY: Seri Styling Mousse Normal Hold, R170).

Step 3: Dry your hair roughly (about 70%) before selecting a small tuft. ‘Roll it in your fingers all the way to the root and put a clip in to hold the curl. Continue this process until you have covered the entire head.’

Step 4: Now, dry your hair completely with a blow dryer, keeping the curls in place.

Step 5: Remove all the clips and brush your hair with a big, flat brush, he says. This will leave you with beautiful, wavy tresses, adds Atzemoglou.

Step 6: For the final touch, pull your hair to one side and clip it into place. On the other side of your head, Atzemoglou adds, use a small amount of cream wax to give the loose waves shine. (TRY: Seri Wax Cream, R150).
